MISSION
As a Legal Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring legal compliance, risk management, and strategic decision-making within our organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide legal guidance, and contribute to the success of our medical devices business.
TASK & RESPONSIBILITIES
Regulatory Compliance:
- Interpret and apply relevant Swiss and international regulations related to medical devices.
- Advise on quality assurance agreements.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the industry and assess their impact on the company’s operations, providing guidance to relevant stakeholders.
Contract Negotiation and Drafting:
- Review, draft, and negotiate a broad variety of contracts, including contracts with suppliers, distributors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure legal protection and favorable terms for the company.
Intellectual Property (IP) Protection and Defense:
- Protect and defend the company’s IP rights on its portfolio, including patents, designs, and trademarks.
- Collaborate with external counsels on IP matters.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Identify legal risks associated with product development, marketing, distribution, and new business initiatives.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and training programs to ensure adherence to laws, regulations and industry best practices.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
- Handle legal disputes, including product liability claims and contractual disputes.
- Work closely with external legal partners and represent the company’s interests.
Corporate Governance:
- Assist in corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder agreements, and compliance with company policies.
EDUCATION & PERSONAL SKILLS
- Legal Degree or equivalent qualification. Admission to Swiss or EU Bar is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a legal advisor, preferably in the medical devices industry.
- Strong knowledge of Swiss and EU medical devices regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Fluent in English, good command of French preferred, German is a plus
